WHEN IS THE COMPETITION?
On Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 6:30 PM

Your Lantern will be Judged
  • Popular Vote: Each person joining Lantern Festival will have one vote to cast.
  • By Panel of Three Judges on the scale of 1-10 based on:
    • Use of recycled material
    • Presentation 
    • Sturdiness of lantern - able to withstand a walk.
  • Walk with lantern for members to appreciate.
  • Judges decision will be considered final.
We want you to enjoy the delicacies of Pot-luck at the get-together, so DO make your lantern at home

Theme

Go Green: Make planet earth green for our future generation. Let’s support sustainable energy, and reduce waste:
  • Lantern should be made up of recyclable material - you can use material like Milk Gallon bottles, Old Ang-pows, Letter Envelopes, Pamphlets etc.
  • One should be able to walk around with the Lantern
  • Lantern should have space to put an battery-operated tea light
  • You should try to reuse as much as possible and try to limit purchase of material if required to not more than $5.

  • Bring your potluck dish from home and register for an opportunity to win for your hard work!

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • Main Dish
  • Side Dish
  • Dessert

Your dish is judged based on
  • Popular Vote – Attendees at the event will each have one vote to cast. 

PRIZES
There will be one Prize for each category:
  • $25 gift card

SOUTHEAST ASIAN SPECTACULAR THEME
Make the Lantern Festival a little homier with a potluck that embraces the good old Southeast Asian spices and flavors. Meat, vegetables or snacks (you name it) might help ease our yearning for some familiar dishes.

ABOUT US
We are a tight-knit community of overseas Singaporeans, former Singaporeans, and friends of Singapore living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Club organizes social and cultural activities throughout the year to remind and reinforce Singaporean traditions and its heritage, as well as to savor its many unique cuisines.

We are a non-profit organization established to promote social networks and events for residents of North Texas who have vested interests in Singapore. We strive to foster a sense of community by providing a link to Singapore, and at the same time promote cultural and heritage awareness.
